Executive Board:
President: Presides over all Board and General Meetings. Creates agenda and facilitates monthly PTA meetings. Acts as liaison between parents, principal and staff. Speaks at Back to School Night and other PTA events. Oversees all PTA committees except Nominating and Audit. Helpings execute activities as needed.
1st Vice President (8th Grade): Acts as aid to President and serves in their absence. Oversees the nominations and voting of members for the Board Nomination Committee per Bylaws. This person should consider becoming President the following year.
2nd Vice President (7th Grade): Acts as aid to President and serves in their absence. Oversees the nominations and voting of members for the Board Nomination Committee per Bylaws.
Treasurer: Handles the organization’s funds, budget and presents a financial report at every meeting; submits books to audit committee. Prepares organization’s tax return.
Secretary: Takes minutes at Board and General Meetings. Types, copies and distributes minutes at meetings and uploads to website and maintains the online calendar and written communications.
Committee Chairs:
7th Grade Party Chair: Manage the planning and execution of the celebration for the 7th grade students.
8th Grade Party Chair: Manage the planning and execution of the celebration for the 8th grade students.
Audit Committee: Responsible for performing end of year audit of the financial books.
Dining For Dollars Coordinator: Arranges month events with local restaurants and shops for families, and a portion of proceed are donated back to Franklin.
Feeder School Liaison: Serves as liaison between Elementary and High Schools and Franklin PTA. Each feeder school will have a representative to share what the PTA’s are doing or need help with.
Hospitality Chair: Coordinates and schedule teacher appreciation events throughout the year, including during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Membership Chair: Recruits new members year round, collects dues and maintains membership directory. Reports membership numbers and submits dues to Virginia PTA.
Nominating Committee Chair: Responsible for finding, screening and nominating candidates for the Offices of; President, Vice President(s), Secretary, and Treasurer.
Spirit Wear Chair: Coordinates ordering, inventory and delivery of Spirit Wear.
Website and Social Media Chair: Manages and posts events and information regarding calendar events for Franklin and school-related messages on social media.
