The Franklin Middle School PTA relies on its parent and family volunteers to keep the many wonderful programs available to our students each year. Please consider getting involved with your PTA. Strong volunteerism and support is critical to the success of many of the programs and activities at Franklin Middle School.
Many people think getting involved and volunteering at their child's school takes a large time commitment, and isn't a viable option for working parents - this is not true! If you don't have a lot time to spare, there are simple ways you can help such as registering their grocery cards, helping with our landscaping team, assisting on the day of a school event, or participating in other fundraising or educational programs.

Committee Chairs:
7th Grade Party Chair: Manage the planning and execution of the celebration for the 7th grade students.
8th Grade Party Chair: Manage the planning and execution of the celebration for the 8th grade students.
Audit Committee: Responsible for performing end of year audit of the financial books.
Beautification Chair: Works with the Principal and PTA to help maintain and undertake projects that enhance the building and grounds, including a Fall and Spring clean-up day.
Box Tops for Chair: Manages the Box Tops for Education drive and mailing in collection sheets, bundled box tops etc.
Boy Scout Liaison: Organizes and coordinates events for the Boy Scout troop at Franklin Middle School.
Business Outreach Coordinator/Community Service Outreach: Responsible for communicating with community and the Fairfax County Council representative.
Dining For Dollars Coordinator: Arranges month events with local restaurants and shops for families, and a portion of proceed are donated back to Franklin.
Feeder School Liaison: Serves as liaison between Elementary and High Schools and Franklin PTA. Each feeder school will have a representative to share what the PTA’s are doing or need help with.
Membership Chair: Recruits new members year round, collects dues and maintains membership directory. Reports membership numbers and submits dues to Virginia PTA.
NJHS Coordinator: Organizes and coordinates events for the NJHS students.
Nominating Committee Chair: Responsible for finding, screening and nominating candidates for the Offices of; President, Vice President(s), Secretary, and Treasurer.
Retail Fundraising Chair: Organizes fundraising opportunities
Spirit Wear Chair: Coordinates ordering, inventory and delivery of Spirit Wear.
Volunteer Chair: Serves as the link between the PTA and the Franklin community by identifying volunteers and their skills with areas of need. The coordinator also maintains a roster of volunteers to coordinate with committee chairpersons.
Website and Social Media Chair: Manages and posts events and information regarding calendar events for Franklin and school-related messages on social media.
